Over the last 3 years, Emvelo has played a central role in the formation and project management of Ilangalethu Solar Power Proprietary Limited, an independent power project development entity that is developing Project Ilanga CSP 1. Ilanga CSP 1 is a 100 MW Parabolic Trough plant being developed at the proposed 1.1 GW Karoshoek solar valley site, Upington, South Africa. The Karoshoek solar valley concept was conceived by Emvelo, the vision for the 34,000 hectare site is to roll out up to 1.1 GW of concentrated thermal power plants capable of generating dispatchable solar electricity
